Alf Penn - Managing Director
Alf is undoubtedly one of the most well known names in the Archive and Restoration business
today. He completed a film Laboratory training scheme at Reeds Film Laboratories from 1964 to 1967. He then went on to work as a specialist Printer/Grader at Kay Laboratories. In 1971 he joined the ITN Library and worked in the sales team eventually becoming library supervisor. In 1984 he joined Thames Television where he gained experience with many prestigious documentary series before becoming a freelance film and archive consultant in 1991 when Thames TV lost their franchise.
In 1997 Alf teamed up with Dave Yeo to offer specialised transfer services to the archive world by forming their new company TK one Ltd. Alf continues to make TKone a success by offering a unique transfer service to archives and their users alike.
Dave Yeo - Managing Director
Dave began his career at Visnews in 1970 working in the news film Library servicing the news syndication clients as well as library sales. In 1975 he moved into the film laboratory technical team to offer specialist archive and newly shot film services to his clients. In 1984 he joined Soho Film Laboratories and specialised in offering laboratory and telecine services to their worldwide client base. Later in 1991 he joined the management team of the newly established Machine Room and trained many of their staff in the needs and disciplines of archive preservation work as well as the day to day offerings of rushes and feature film mastering.
1997 he joined Alf to create a Telecine facility company designed to concentrate in the Archive market. With Alf, Dave has built TK one Ltd a client base that serves major archives and smaller independent production companies today.
Alan Penn - Technical Manager
Alan has been working in the industry for just over 20 years. Alan began his career at Telecine Ltd in 1988 as a trainee VT operator, eventually being promoted to VT operator where he handled multiple film and broadcast formats. In 1994 he moved to World Wide Film Research in London and became familiar with the sourcing and handling of archive material for high end documentaries such as 'The Century of Warfare'. Alan then moved to TV set group in 1999 as VT operator learning more about modern formats and transfers.
In 2004 he joined the TK one team where his valuable film handling and transfer skills are a valuable asset to the growing client base.
